Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare Are Coming to New Platforms in December
Red Dead Redemption, the classic Western epic, is coming along with its zombie-horror expansion, Undead Nightmare, this December 2, for the new generation of platforms. These include PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the Nintendo Switch 2, and, for the first time, compatible iOS and Android devices, and Netflix.
Mobile and Netflix Debut
Says Reb Dead Red's journey among players on iOS and Android platforms will now reach even more. Such mobiles are to include the mobile-friendly control options. But Netflix subscribers can only play downloaded and play to their mobile devices, minus the added cost to their subscription. That is it for Netflix members.
Enhancements for Current-gen Consoles
The most significant improvements to single-player experiences across both games are much technical enhancements, including bonus content from Game of the Year Edition.
- PS5 and Xbox Series X|S: These editions will offer ultra-smooth 60 frames per second, as high as 4K resolution, best image quality, and HDR-support.
- Nintendo Switch 2: This will also run up to a fluid 60 frames per second at a high resolution, with added support for DLSS, HDR, and mouse controls.
Free Upgrade and Save File Transfers
A completely free upgrade is available to anybody who already owns the game. Those who have the game digitally on PS4, Nintendo Switch, or the backward-compatible version on Xbox One can get the new-generation version for free. File progress from saved files is also possible:
- PS4 save data can transfer on the PS5 version.
- Save data from Nintendo Switch can be transferred to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Subscription Service Availability
In addition, on the day of the launch on December 2, the new console versions of Red Dead Redemption, made in partnership with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, will form part of the GTA+ Games Library and PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
