27-inch PlayStation Gaming Monitor - Now Available from Sony
Sony has just launched a 27-inch PlayStation gaming monitor. It is set to be released in the US and Japan early next year. The 27-inch monitor targets both fans of console and PC gaming, but the price was not announced just yet.
Display and performance specifications
Specifications for the monitor indicate it is designed to enhance high-quality gaming performance on modern hardware.
- Display Panel: 27 inches QHD IPS with a 2560 x 1440 resolution.
- Refresh Rate: Up to 120 Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro consoles, with up to 240 Hz on PC and Mac devices.
- HDR: High Dynamic Range support with Auto HDR Tone Mapping for optimizing HDR upon connecting a PS5 or PS5 Pro.
- VRR: Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) for game play without stutters or tears.
- Controller Charging: Features built-in Charging Hook for holding and charging a DualSense or DualSense Edge wireless controller.
Connectivity and ports
The monitor is fitted with a complete port selection, ensuring usability versatility.
- HDMI: Two HDMI 2.1 IN ports for supporting QHD up to 240Hz, Fixed Rate Link (FRL) and VRR in both.
- DisplayPort: One DisplayPort 1.4 IN port for QHD at up to 240Hz and using Display Stream Compression (DSC).
- USB: Two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port, for PlayStation Link Adapters and other attachments.
Audio, Mounting, and Accessories
The monitor also has built-in speakers and a standard 3.5mm audio output jack. It works with certain VESA mounting systems for wall or arm mounting.
Sony also pairs it up with the forthcoming Pulse Elevate Wireless Speakers, featuring planar magnetic drivers, and also expected to arrive in 2026.
Launching Information
The Sony PlayStation Gaming Monitor will thus appear on the market in 2026 for both the US and Japanese states. Otherwise, the price will be announced later.
