ASUS Launches ROG Strix XG27JCG, the First 5K 180Hz Monitor for Gaming
ASUS has added the ROG Strix XG27JCG to their monitor lineup and claims it to be the first in the world to combine 5K resolution and 180Hz refresh rate for gaming.
Display Specs and Dual Mode Functionality
The ROG Strix XG27JCG has a 27-inch Fast IPS panel. A notable feature is that it provides support for two different modes, thereby allowing the user to choose either high resolution or ultra-high frame rates:
- 5K Mode: Native resolution at 180Hz refresh rate;
- 1440p Mode: Low resolution at 330Hz refresh rate.
The display is certified VESA DisplayHDR 600, with peak brightness of 600 nits, 10-bit colour depth, and 97% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage.
Game Enhancing Technologies
The monitor has got some key technologies integrated to ensure smooth and clear visuals-especially during fast-paced gameplay:
- Sync Technologies: Support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro;
- Clarity features: ELMB 2 (Extreme Low Motion Blur) plus Variable Overdrive;
- In-game assists: Dynamic Shadow Boost, Dynamic Crosshair and AI Visual features that will amplify the gaming experience.
Connectivity and Ergonomics
The monitor offers a complete set of ports and an ergonomic monitor stand.
- Ports - One DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB Type-C port (with 15W power delivery), and a three-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A hub.
- Stand - Offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustments, as well as full pivoting to portrait orientation.
- Mounting - Standard VESA 100x100 mm mount and 1/4-inch thread to attach cameras or other accessories.
Expected Price and Availability
The ASUS ROG Strix X27JCG will be sold in China starting on December 31st, as announced for $920.
