Control Resonant Sequel Officially Revealed by Remedy Entertainment
Remedy Entertainment has officially revealed Control Resonant, the immediate sequel to its magical action game Control. This was announced during The Game Awards 2025 on December 12.
New Protagonist and Story Details
Players will take the role of Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden's brother in Control Resonant. The fundamental mission is to fight an army of mysterious monsters to find his sister.
According to the official description of the game, Dylan is charged to confront a mysterious cosmic entity distorting the fundamental laws of our reality by former keepers. He must master new abilities to combat threats across Manhattan.
Gameplay changes to Slasher in Open World
This sequel will present a major gameplay style. While the first installment is more contained, Metroidvania-style, Control Resonant, which fits the nature of Devil May Cry, is predicated as a slasher. It is additionally set in the "vast expanses of New York City."
Through an artifact known as an "Aberrant," players can create different types of weaponry, for example, blades and hammers, from it at will.
Character Progression System
A deep progression system will be one of its key features. The game's Steam page points out that players will have "connections that will help him preserve the remains of his self, turning him into a paranormal weapon," giving Dylan different abilities to adapt to certain threats over time.
Platforms and Release Information
Control Resonant will be released in the year 2026. The game will feature PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. The game already includes a page on the Steam platform.
