Edifier Airpulse A60 Desktop Speakers Announced for High-Fidelity Music
Edifier has just announced the Airpulse A60, a pair of desktop speakers designed for high-fidelity music listening. The system seeks to deliver a high-quality sound performance based on advanced driver technology while keeping the modern wireless connectivity options that bring versatile use.
Driver Technology and Audio Performance
The Airpulse A60 is engineered to produce sound with as little distortion as possible while maintaining utmost detail. The internal hardware configuration consists of:
- High-Frequency Driver 10W planar diaphragm and voice coil for treble that is dead on.
- Mid-Low Driver A 3.5-inch aluminum driver (30W), with 30mm voice coil and ferrite magnet.
- Amplification Powered by a pair of Texas Instruments TAS5754M Class D amplifier chips running at 192 kHz with support of a couple of auxiliary DSP chips.
This allows the system to operate within a frequency spectrum of 52 Hz to 20 kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 90 dB.
Connectivity and Processing
A robust set of interfaces enables the Airpulse A60 to accommodate both analog and digital sources. High-resolution audio playback over cable is handled by the Savitech USB controller; an ADC PCM9211 handles analog input at 24-bit/216 kHz level.
Connectivity options include:
- Wired Inputs AUX, USB, and an optical interface
- Wireless Bluetooth 5.1 supporting aptX and aptX HD to ensure audio quality wireless connection.
- Expansion A port for external subwoofer connection.
Pricing and Availability
The Edifier Airpulse A60 comes with a remote control and is on sale in the Chinese market with localized pricing varying by finish.
- Walnut Finish Around $280
- White Finish Around $322
