Amnesia Creator Frictional Games Announces New Horror Title, Ontos

By revealing a trailer at The Game Awards, Frictional Games-the makers of the Amnesia franchise-now announces the next game into development-Ontos, a narrative-driven horror title considered a spiritual successor to the studio's existential horror classic, SOMA.

Story, Settings, and Star Power

The story embraces the lunar hotel Samsara, where instabilities in reality are said to occur. Players assume the character of Aditi Amani, who comes to the hotel searching for her father-the prophet. Soon within her journey, she undergoes horrendous experiments that challenge the boundaries of science and morality.

Stellan Skarsgård (remembered from Dune and Andor) makes an appearance in this project, providing the voice-over for the game's promotional footage.

Release Date and Platforms

Ontos is scheduled for a 2026 release. The horror title will be playable on:
