Game Awards 2025 Best RPG Results Spark Developer and Fan Controversy
The Game Awards 2025 results have become controversial with respect to the awarding of the "Best RPG" award. The game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 received the unusual nine major awards, a sweep that engendered vocal discontent among certain developers, most notably the makers of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Warhorse Studios Claims "We've Been Robbed"
The Warhorse Studios development team had their sights on a win for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II as they discretely shamelessly ridiculed the loss. PR guy Tobias Stolz-Zwilling posted under X: "We've officially been robbed"
The official game account followed up by posting a screenshot from the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance that featured the dialogue line, "Blame the French," a direct insult to the French development studio of the winning game.
