Samsung Second-Half Performance Bonuses, Memory Division Announces 100%
Samsung Electronics has announced the payout rates for its second-half Target Achievement Incentive (TAI), a performance-based bonus program. The Device Solutions (DS) division, which comprises semiconductors, is therefore affected in bonus rates of as much as 100% against the base monthly salary, indicating the sign of a turnaround in the semiconductor industry.
The TAI is performed bi-annually, based on the performance evaluation of different federating business units. The TAI normally grants up to 100% of an employee's monthly base salary. The second-half awards are to be bestowed on the 24th.
Device Solutions (DS) Division Bonuses
The major impact of the variable DS division was per performance:
- Memory division: a 100% TAI would be awarded, which is a great leap from 25% for H1 grants, mainly because of the supply of 12-layer HBM3E to Nvidia and the onset of increased memory prices.
- Semiconductor Research Lab & AI Center: Also 100% performance bonus.
- System LSI & Foundry Divisions: Received a performance-based bonus of 25%.
Device Experience (DX) Division Bonuses
As for the DX division, which is under the consumer electronics portfolio, including home appliances and smartphones, the following TAI rates apply:
- Mobile Experience (MX) Division: Will receive a 75% bonus which is attributed to the strong performance of the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 7 series.
- Visual Display (VD) & Home Appliances Divisions: Will get only 37.5% of their base monthly salary as a result of bad slump performances in the TV and home appliance markets.
Bonuses at Key Affiliates
Samsung's major affiliates have also made their respective announcements pertaining to TAI payment rates:
- Samsung Electro-Mechanics: The MLCC and camera module divisions will both receive 100%, while the package substrate division will receive 75%.
- Samsung Display: A standard TAI rate of 50% of the base salary will be adopted across all divisions of the business.
