Tianma Mass Produces First 185Hz AMOLED Gaming Display
Tianma has put forward its first-ever AMOLED panels for gaming devices in mass production. The new AMOLED display runs at an extreme refresh rate of 185Hz and is packed with several new-age technologies to boost its performance and efficiency.
Cutting-Edge Technology Implemented In The New Panel
Tianma has engineered one of its own discrete pixel architectures, building upon past implementations of 165Hz panels. The design employs a dual-loop independent data management system, thereby eliminating the traditional trade-off between display velocity and display accuracy.
Under the Ultra High Refresh Rate mode, several significant advantages are obtained:
- Initial screen brightness has been enhanced by 13.4%.
- Image retention is improved by up to 61%.
- Compensation time is decreased to extremely low levels.
The panel has received certification for its ultra-high frame rate performance for mobile gaming applications.
Performance and Responsiveness
A 5.4ms response time is specified for the display. When combined with intelligent touch algorithms, this technology provides clear image definition without ghosting or washed-out detail, making for a display with fast visual and touch response in an uninterrupted gaming experience.
Power Consumption and Visual Quality
The new panel from Tianma with the new-generation LED contributes to a significant reduction in overall power consumption. It also includes intelligent dimming technology with full PWM flicker suppression, complemented by individual calibration of each pixel for visual comfort and quality enhancement.
Market-Status
Tianma has confirmed that mass production is taking place and the panels are available for shipment to device manufacturers. In short, this means very soon, a lot of gaming devices with high-refresh-rate OLED panels will arrive in the market.
