Asus ROG Zephyrus Lineup Gets a 2026 Refresh at CES
At CES 2026, Asus has given new looks to the ROG Zephyrus G16, G14, and Duo 16 laptops in the gaming lineup. Intel's Panther Lake processors will power the new releases along with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs and some impressive display technology improvements.
ASUS ROG Zephyrus G16 (2026)
A lot of internal hardware enhancements were done in the flagship ROG Zephyrus G16. It will surely have a 16-core Intel Panther Lake CPU which may either be the Core Ultra X9 388H or Core Ultra 9 368H. There is a new circular vent design made for an improved cooling mechanism.
- GPU Options: The GPU can be NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, or RTX 5070 Ti.
- Memory/Storage: Up to 64 GB LPDDR5x RAM and an SSD of 2 TB, varying with GPU configuration.
- Display: 16-inch WQXGA (2560 x 1600) screen with a refresh rate of 240 Hz and a peak HDR brightness of 1,000 nits.
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, Thunderbolt 4.0, USB-C, USB-A, HDMI 2.1, and an SD card reader are included.
- Battery & Weight: It weighs 1.95 kilograms and has a battery capacity of 90 Wh.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2026)
The smaller Zephyrus now opens up to new offerings by using the Intel and AMD CPU options. These, however, feature marked differences in what GPUs would pair along with memory support.
- CPU/GPU Variants:
- Intel Model: Panther Lake CPU with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 or RTX 5070 Ti. Supports up to 64 GB of LPDDR5x-7500 RAM.
- AMD Model: Ryzen AI 400 "Gorgon Point" CPU tied to a GeForce RTX 5060 GPU. Supports maximum 32 GB of RAM only.
- Display: 14-inch WQXGA+ (2880 x 1800) ROG Nebula display at 120Hz refresh rate and boasting a peak HDR brightness of 1,100 nits.
- Connectivity: Intel uses Thunderbolt 4 as connectivity, AMD with USB 4.0. Both have USB-C, USB-A, and HDMI 2.1 features.
- Battery: 73 Wh battery with 200 W charging speed.
Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 (2026)
This model of dual-screen Zephyrus Duo 16 has now been enhanced as it is going to be designed on an Intel platform and with a new dual full-size design for the screen. It is planned for Q2 2026.
- CPU: An unspecified 16-core Intel Panther Lake CPU.
- GPU Options: Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 for the RTX 5070 Ti.
- Memory/Storage: For the RTX 5090: 64 GB RAM with 2 TB storage. For the RTX 5070 Ti: 32 GB RAM with 1 TB storage.
- Display: The most prominent enhancement is the two 16-inch WQXGA (2880 x 1800) OLED screens at 120 Hz.
- Connectivity: Two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0.
- Weight: 2.80 kg.
Asus has remained tight-lipped about pricing and specific release dates for the Zephyrus G16 and G14 models. Pricing for the Zephyrus Duo 16 would be known closer to Q2 2026, when it is scheduled to hit the market.
