ASUS Launches New Vivobook Line for Multi-Platform Efficiency in CES 2026
ASUS commenced CES 2026 by giving a complete makeover to some of its popular laptop lines. A revamped Vivobook 16 was brought on board and so were Emi's other slims, Vivobook S14 and S16, giving it a face lift. One of the striking highlights this year is that users of Asus Vivobooks could really choose processors among the line-ups of the latest silicon from AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm.
The New Vivobook 16: Versatility with Durability
Vivobook 16, 2026 edition, focuses more on productivity, coming with a choice of either AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon X series chip. Interestingly, the hardware choice also affects the connectivity and display specs:
- Ports: The Qualcomm version affords better connections featuring two USB 4 ports and HDMI 2.1 whereas the AMD option is limited with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and regular HDMI.
- Display: WUXGA IPS onboard for AMD while FHD IPS for Qualcomm, 16-inches, 16:10 wide.
- Design: The chassis is about 1.79 cm thick and weighs roughly 1.88 kg. It comes with a 180 deg lay-flat hinge and military-grade resilience.
Regardless of the processor choice, every user would access up to 16 RAM, storage of 1 TB, and a battery that charges for as long as 17 hours. Available in Cool Silver and Quiet Blue.
Vivobook S14 & S16: A Premium Pick and Easy Carry
For those wanting something a bit more mobile but exceptionally powerful, the upgraded S Series did quite a lot in that regard. These portable computers are much lighter at only 1.59 cm thick and come with metallic allover constructions.
Processor Configuration
Processor lineup here is extensive: The S14 and S16 are available with Next-Gen AMD Ryzen AI chips or powerful Core Ultra 9 Series 3 processors from Intel. However, there is more to the Vivobook S16spec by configuring it exclusively with the new Snapdragon X2 Elite chipset.
Key Specs of the S-Series
- Display: Mostly WUXGA OLED vibrant for most configurations, but the Snapdragon S16 converts up to an optional 2.5K IPS display.
- Weight: The Intel variants are the ones that weigh at a mere 1.40 kg, while the AMD and Snapdragon models weigh in at 1.70 kg.
- Performance: Supports up to 32 GB of RAM, 70 Wh battery.
- Connectivity: USB 4, HDMI 2.1, and Wi-Fi 6 supported.
Availability
ASUS will not be giving any specifics in pricing or release dates for these 2026 models yet. More details are extensively expected to unfold after the event of CES.
