HP Releases Chromebook 14, x360 14, and Chromebook Plus Models for 2026
HP has renewed its entry-level Chromebook range for 2026 by releasing refreshed versions of the HP Chromebook 14 and the convertible HP Chromebook x360 14. The updated models, together with these new models, also got the fresh HP Chromebook Plus versions, which include upgraded processors and come with a Google AI Pro subscription. The brand-new models are scheduled to be released in February 2026.
HP Chromebook 14 and Chromebook x360 14 (2026)
The standard models are basically the bases from where the new lineup will spring. The only difference between the two is in the form factor; the Chromebook x360 14 has a 360-degree hinge, so it can double as a tablet.
- Display: 14-inch 2K (1920 × 1200) IPS panel, 16:10 aspect ratio, with 300 nits of brightness. The optional touch support is available for the standard model, while the x360 version offers multi-touch capability with edge-to-edge glass or anti-glare finish.
- Processor: Options include Intel N250 or Intel N150 processor.
- Memory: 4GB or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
- Storage: Ranges from 64GB eMMC configurations up to 256GB UFS or a 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.
Enhanced HP Chromebook Plus 14 and Chromebook Plus x360 14
The Plus designation comes with added performance and capabilities, such as a one-year subscription to Google AI Pro.
- Processor: Both have the Core 3 N355 processor from Intel.
- Memory: Standardized on 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM.
- Storage: Storage starts with 128GB UFS and up to 512GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD.
- Privacy Features: Dedicated microphone mute key.
Features Common to All 2026 Models
The new Chromebook 14s are formed, whether plain or Plus, off a common core of modernity features.
- Webcam: 1080p camera with mechanical privacy shutter and dual-array digital microphones. Temporal noise reduction is in Plus models.
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 6, coupled with Bluetooth 5.4 or 5.3.
- Ports: All models sport a 3.5mm audio jack and at least one USB-A port. Standard models come with a single USB-C port, whereas the Chromebook Plus x360 14 brings in two USB-C ports. USB-C ports support Power Delivery 3.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and HP Sleep & Charge.
- Battery: Cells: Typical range in battery configuration is three with 41Wh.
- Audio: All dual speakers.
Colors and Availability
Prices are to be confirmed closer to February 2026. The Chromebook 14 offers a selection of Glacier Silver, Sky Blue, to name a few colors. The several colors that will be available with the Chromebook x360 14 are Meteor Silver and Powder Pink. The different colors in which the Chromebook Plus models will come include Glacier Silver and Meteor Silver.
