HP Unveils Two New EliteBook X G2 Models at the CES 2026
During CES 2026, HP announced a new range of EliteBook laptops specifically designed for enterprise and business users. The models are powered by Qualcomm, AMD, and Intel processors, offering security and optional 5G connectivity.
EliteBook X G2q (Qualcomm) and G2a (AMD)
These two machines share the same chassis and a number of features, but they differ in their core platform.
Shared Features
- Display: Both feature a 14-inch screen with options for several types of panels, including WUXGA OLED, WUXGA LCD, and touch. There's also a 3K 120Hz VRR OLED panel. There's also a tandem OLED.
- Battery and Charging: A standard 56 Wh battery can be swapped out for a larger variant (68 Wh). Both models ship with a 65W charger, upgradeable to 100W.
- Connectivity: Both models sport a 5 MP camera onboard, connect to Bluetooth 5.4, and offer Wi-Fi 7 and will be available in Glacial Silver or Atmospheric Blue.
EliteBook X G2q Specifications (Qualcomm)
- Processor: Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 (18 cores), X2E-80-100 (12 cores), or a Snapdragon X Plus SKU (6 cores) with an Adreno iGPU-based solution. Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-88-100 (18 cores), X2E-80-100 (12 cores), or a Snapdragon X Plus SKU (6 cores) with an Adreno iGPU based solution.
- Memory: Up to 64 GB of LPDDR5x-9600 RAM.
- Storage: Up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen4/Gen5 NVMe SSD.
- Ports: This device is equipped with USB 4.0, includes one 10 Gbps USB-C, one 5 Gbps USB-A, and one HDMI 2.1 port.
- Wi-Fi: Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Wi-Fi 7 radio.
EliteBook X G2a Specifications (AMD)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470, Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450, Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440, or Ryzen AI 5 435, all featuring a Radeon iGPU.
- Memory: Supports up to 64 GB of DDR5-8533 RAM.
- Storage: Up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen4/Gen5 NVMe SSD.
- Ports: Two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, one 10 Gbps USB-C, one 5 Gbps USB-A, and an HDMI 2.1 port.
- Wi-Fi: Uses MediaTek MT7925 Wi-Fi 7 adapter.
EliteBook X G2i and X Flip G2i (Intel)
HP also introduced the Intel-powered versions of the all-time standard clamshell and a convertible "Flip" model and a lighter model.
Core Features (G2i and Flip G2i)
- Processor: Next Generation Intel Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 Processors (Panther Lake) both vPro and non-vPro versions.
- Memory: Supports up to 64 GB LPDDR5x-8533 or 32/64 GB LPDDR5x-9600 high-speed variants.
- Ports: I/O comes with 2 thundering Thunderbolt 4.0 ports, one USB-C, one USB-A, and an HDMI 2.1 port.
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and optional 5G modem.
EliteBook X G2i Lightweight Variant
Model three is built for light weight, at 999 g, but a few things were sacrificed:
- A maximum of 24 GB of LPDDR5x-8533 RAM.
- A 5G modem is not an option.
- The battery is confined to a 56 Wh cell and a 65W charger.
- Screen is only available in a 120Hz 3K OLED option.
Availability
The devices powered by Qualcomm and the EliteBook X G2q powered by AMD will both be released in Spring 2026. HP will announce prices for all models as the date of launch gets closer.
