LG Display Unveils New OLED Technologies at CES 2026
The most interesting parameters and features of its new products were unveiled by LG Display at the CES 2026 exhibition. Announced by the company were high-brightness OLED matrixes for future use in televisions, high-refresh-rate gaming displays, and several large-format screens for an automobile dashboard.
Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 for TVs
LG created a new panel for its next-generation televisions-primary RGB tandem 2.0 OLED. The panel technology differs from widely used RGBWB (Red, Green, Blue, White, Blue) structures in that it uses pure RGB layouts. In this changeover, the company argues, two key merits accrue:
- High Peak Brightness: The panel can achieve as much as 4,500 nits.
- Accurate Color Reproduction: Pure RGB structure allows for much more accurate colors.
With all these new features, the matrix is provided with a new anti-reflective coating to reduce screen surface reflectivity.
New Displays for Gamers
Also unveiled were two other new OLED matrices specifically targeted for the gamer market.
- 27 inches with 720 Hz refresh.
- 39-inch ultrawide with a 5K2K resolution.
Advanced Automotive Screens
The company presented its idea of car displays through two concepts. The first is an extremely large 51-inch screen that spans pillar-to-pillar across the entire dashboard. The entire unit will be attached to the dashboard with a single piece of glass and allows for software separation of imagery and contents for each area between the driver and passenger zones.
The other concept is a retractable one. This screen is always partially visible during normal operational conditions but extends from the dashboard and unwinds into a full 33-inch screen only at the command of the driver.
Availability and Pricing
It is yet unknown from LG Display when the new products will be available for sale or how much they would cost.
