LG OLED evo W6 Revives the Wireless Wallpaper TV Concept at CES 2026

The wallpaper concept made a return at the Wireless OLED evo W6 by LG. Officially presented at CES 2026, the ultra-thin Wallpaper TV was first introduced in 2017. The new model LG OLED evo W6 partners this thinness with modern wireless technology and further improvements in picture quality.

A Crisp Setup with the Zero Connect Box

The W6 is unique due to the Zero Connect Box. This contains all the inputs of the TV; it wirelessly transmits 4K video and audio to the screen, 10 meters away or more. Thus there is no cable going to the display for a really neat installation.

While the original 2017 setup required cable connection to a mandatory soundbar, the flexibility of placement due to the new wireless technology is welcome. The W6 itself is 9.5mm thinner, which is thicker than the original 2.57mm, giving a flexible internal architecture and the new wireless technology.

New Advances in Picture Quality

"W6 particularly enjoys aplicating LG's latest Hyper Radiant Color Technology" with promised leaps forward in the domains of brightness, color, and contrast. The panel, as claimed by LG, is said to be 3.9 times brighter than a regular OLED; no actual peak brightness numbers were provided.

The anti-reflective coating on the screen helps keep the picture clear in bright rooms. It is the only LG TV to be awarded Intertek's Reflection-Free Premium certification. The enhancements of these images are powered by the new Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3.

Gaming Performance and Smart Features

Not least, the OLED evo W6 is geared towards high-performance gaming and smart functionality.

  • Refresh Rate: 4K@165Hz
  • Sync Technology: Supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium
  • Operating System: Runs latest webOS with voice-based profile-switching features
  • Art Mode: Comes with LG Gallery+, capable of displaying over 4,500 images, turning the screen into a digital art piece when not in-use.

Pricing and Availability Expectations

Official pricing details and the release date for the OLED evo W6 have not been declared yet by LG. Nevertheless, it is expected that pricing will be more approachable than the original 2017 model, which entered the markets at a price of $7,999. This is thought to position it with LG's other high-end OLED offerings.

The new Wallpaper TV will be a highlight at LG's booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center during CES 2026.
