Minisforum Unveils AI X1 Pro Mini-PC with AMD's "Gorgon Point" APU
Minisforum made its first mini-PC based on AMD's new Ryzen AI 400 "Gorgon Point" series, the AI X1 Pro. This new model is a refresh of the model from last year based on Strix Point and has an APU with a lot of power and a great selection of modern ports.
Core Specifications
AI X1 Pro is based on the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU with a 12-core Zen 5 CPU and integrated Radeon 890M iGPU. This combination can drive four 4K displays simultaneously.
- Memory: Support 128 GB DDR5-5600 RAM in two SO-DIMM slots.
- Storage: There can be three M.2 2280 slots that can allow a maximum storage of 12TB.
Connectivity and I/O
AI X1 Pro's very prospect increases high-speed connectivity and expansion features through an alternate array of ports.
- High-Speed Ports: Two USB 4.0 ports and one Oculink port for external GPU dock connection.
- Display Outputs: One DisplayPort 2.0 and one HDMI 2.1.
- Networking: Two 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4.
- General I/O: Three USB-A ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and an SD card reader.
Additional Features
Several amenities were included with Minisforum. The device features a fingerprint reader for biometric login and a dedicated Copilot button. One of the most remarkable design changes from the previous version is that it has now transitioned to an integrated power supply, thus eliminating the bulky external power brick.
Pricing and Availability
Pricing and a specific launch date for the AI X1 Pro have not yet been announced by Minisforum. The company has stated that the mini-PC will be available for global purchases "soon."
