Razer Unveils Two AI Concepts-Project Mokoto and Project Ava
Has unveiled two new hardware concepts: Project Mokoto and Project Ava, both focusing on adding AI capabilities to the interaction with the user. Project Mokoto is a headset that has no visible display and can allow an AI "see" the user's environment for itself; Project Ava is an AI that is a holographic companion for one using Windows computers.
Project Mokoto The Display-less AI Headset
Project Mokoto is an audio headset that functions with augmented reality without any visual display. It allows an AI to hear and understand what occurs around the user and send that information to them through audio.
Core Functionality
- Visual Input: Connected AI can see what the user sees because two cameras are located near eye-level.
- Audio Interaction: User interacts with the AI through built-in near-field and far-field microphones, with the AI's reply delivered through over-ear headphone speakers.
- Processing: A Snapdragon SoC drives the device, providing onboard AI as well as XR capabilities.
- AI Compatibility: It is designed to be compatible with different models of AI, such as Gemini, Grok, and OpenAI.
Primary Use Cases
- General Assistance: Users can inquire about objects visible in their field of view or get AI text summaries of things they see.
- Humanoid Training: Supported by the eye-level camera placement, this headset can be used to teach humanoid robots to mimic human action accurately.
Project Ava A Holographic AI Companion
Project Ava is a desktop accessory for those using Windows, offering an AI companion in the flesh through the medium of holographic display.
Device Characteristics
- Holographic Display: A 5.5-inch screen is projecting a 3D avatar with which users can interact.
- Interactive Avatars: They will have their personalities, expressed in performance as well as their animated facial expressions and eye tracking.
- Hardware: The unit includes a speaker, far-field microphones, an HD camera, and LED lights.
- AI Integration: Initially, the device is designed to be powered by xAI's Grok but will be expanded to other AI models over time.
Activity by Activity Functionality
- Gaming: Celebrate winning; respond to in-game queries; offer strategical guidance.
- Work: Counselling on project development, data analysis, and live translation provision.
- Everyday Life: It can have track to-do lists, send reminders, and develop more health-conscious living.
