Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update brings dynamic weather and weapon balance
The Arc Raiders content update named Shrouded Sky introduces two main features which are dynamic weather hazards and essential combat balance modifications. The hurricane map condition serves as the main feature which requires players to face low visibility conditions and strong winds and flying debris throughout the Rust Belt area. The game introduces two new ARC enemy types, which create a need for players to develop new strategies against them because these enemies use new environmental features.
Semi automatic weapon input handling now follows new rules established by developers. A new input buffering system prevents players from achieving fire rate control through "spam clicking" because it rewards players who time their shots accurately with superior results compared to fast clickers. The weapon modifications contain the following changes.
Stitcher The base damage was reduced to 6.5 because the extremely rapid time to kill (TTK) needed to be slowed down through this change which also lowered headshot damage from 2.5 to 1.75. Displaying the character arts now extends to 50 percent further than its previous limits.
Kettle Base damage is reduced to 8.5 to prevent it from being used effectively as a close quarters SMG, though it retains a high headshot multiplier. The headshot damage multiplier remained high while the base damage deficiency prevented effective use during nearby encounters.
Venator The high tier weapon received two damage reductions which lowered its base damage to 8 and its headshot multiplier to 2 in order to stop its excessive power during PvP fights. The Jupiter weapon received a buff which enhanced its long range performance through two improvements.
Aphelion The weapon received major maneuverability improvements which included a 1 second reduction in reload time and a 50% decrease in vertical recoil. The new content establishes world interactions through its expansion of Speranza and its additional surface gameplay.
The Weather Monitoring System is now active for players to progress through. New facial hair options are available for Raider customization. A playable piano has been added as an interactable object in the environment. The Dam Battlegrounds received both visual and structural improvements through the map updates.
Economy and daily tasks received updates which enhance player experiences through the new changes. Players have three opportunities to reroll their feats at no cost during each day. The game developers eliminated PvP specific Feats because they introduced new objectives which require players to complete various tasks. Players need to acquire ARC specific parts for crafting high tier gear which includes Deadline and Trailblazer and Wolfpack, because market values for these items have increased, which makes progression through the game more deliberate.
The update provides solutions for technical bugs and exploits through its fix, which includes several features.
Exploit Prevention Players can no longer place ziplines, mines, or traps on carryable objects or other deployables. The new visual integrity rules prevent players from seeing through walls in low light situations by blocking access to NVIDIA Freestyle filters. Permanent bans will become the standard punishment for players who receive strong software detections. The team established an appeal manual review system which reduces Family Sharing rules to better eliminate users who misuse the system.
Ladder interactions and vaulting have received general movement improvements through the game upgrades. The quick slot system now allows players to use Pop Triggers and Spotter Relays, while Spotter Relay functions as an ARC enemy lure. Vita Spray now provides players with continuous healing during its operation time, because developers removed a previously available exploit.
