Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition Remaster Launch Issues and Save Game Bug

The remaster of Rayman Returns which Ubisoft created for its 30th anniversary has encountered various problems at its initial launch. Before Ubisoft created their Assassins Creed franchise the company became known through their character Rayman who had no arms or legs. The Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition which Ubisoft released marks three decades of the platforming heros existence. The collection brings happiness to retro enthusiasts but its launch faced problems because of a progress threatening bug which appeared during present day gameplay.

The 1995 original film needs more than basic upscaling to achieve its current state. The Digital Eclipse team who developed the anniversary edition created a playable museum experience which serves as a playable collection. The compilation provides players with five separate editions of the artwork which they can access through the following platforms

  • Atari Jaguar
  • PlayStation
  • MS DOS
  • Game Boy Color
  • Game Boy Advance

The game provides players with 124 extra levels plus extensive extra material which they can access beyond the main game. The game currently exists as a digital product on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch platforms.

A critical bug which prevented players from saving their game progress ruined all the excitement players had for the game. The first group of unhappy customers who reached out to Ubisoft support received a surprising response that said the game had already entered its support period after only three days since launch.

The gaming community reacted with outrage when news spread that the studio had declared the remaster its abandonware status.

Ubisoft explained the situation through their response as a misunderstanding which had taken place. The case occurred because internal communication errors made people misunderstand the situation. Ubisoft stated that the support agent mistakenly thought they were dealing with legacy Rayman titles instead of modern 30th Anniversary Edition content. A company representative confirmed that the development team knows about the save glitch and they plan to release a solution soon.

The most extensive Rayman package ever created becomes available to players who can overlook initial technical problems. The product perfectly recreates 90s charm while offering newcomers their first experience of Ubisofts initial development path. You should hold off until the first patch arrives before attempting to complete the entire game in a single session.
