The Raiders Hurricane and Southern Italy Map Conditions

The Rust Belt becomes more dangerous with the arrival of Raiders. Southern Italy will experience massive Hurricane landfall on February 24th which brings a new Map Condition that alters all gameplay elements. The effect creates a visual display which additionally functions as a physical force that tests your endurance and shooting skills and ability to survive.

The wind in the Hurricane serves as both your best friend and your most dangerous opponent. The distance between points A and B requires more than running to reach both destinations. The storm requires you to observe its movement pattern

Tailwinds Running with the wind makes you significantly faster and more nimble. Use this to escape ARC or close the gap on rivals.

Headwinds The gales will make it harder for you to move forward while your body will rapidly lose stamina. The headwind will make you vulnerable to detection in open spaces so you must plan your routes to avoid both headwind and open areas.

The wind moves projectiles through the air which requires you to aim off target for successful hits. Projectiles Grenades and other throwables will no longer follow a standard path. The wind will carry them which means you must adjust your aim to hit the target.

The wind creates enough strength to transform dirt and scrap on the surface into deadly projectiles. The energy shield of yours becomes most vulnerable in this area. The small debris will make your shield release sparks which will cause it to malfunction in two different ways.

  • Degradation The shield will experience gradual damage when you maintain its active status in open spaces.
  • Visibility The electrical sparks from the debris strikes make you much easier for other Raiders to spot through the dust.

You must decide between two tactical courses of action maintain the shield for protection which will reveal your location or deactivate it to remain hidden.

The Hurricane creates an environment which becomes completely hidden due to its dense low hanging clouds. The ARC machines become harder to detect because their visibility range extends only until they are directly in front of you. The rival squads will not see you if you keep your shield off while walking through the chaos. The key element of this situation requires you to identify enemy mechanical whirrs which exist beyond the loud winds.

Why head into a storm when everyone else seeks safety indoors The wind serves as a natural force which reveals buried historical artifacts. First Wave Caches rare relics from the initial conflict are appearing across the map. The ARC security system protects hidden stashes which become visible during the storm but any Raider who can successfully navigate through wind obstacles will achieve great rewards against their adversaries.

The map masters will succeed through environmental adaptation instead of using superior equipment. You should use the storm to create hiding spaces which will enhance your movement speed. We will see you in the gales on the 24th.
