GeForce NOW Linux Application Enters Beta Testing Phase

The Linux operating system now has its first GeForce NOW application which has reached its beta testing stage. The new application allows Linux users to stream games from the cloud using GeForce RTX 5080 power without having to own expensive local gaming equipment.

The beta app specifically supports Ubuntu 24.04 and later versions. The desktop native app delivers performance equal to the Windows and macOS versions. Key capabilities include

  • Resolution and Frame Rates The system can stream content at 5K resolution with a frame rate of 120 fps or 1080p resolution with a frame rate of 360 fps.
  • RTX Technologies Users can utilize ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4 and advanced cloud rendering features.
  • Cloud Hardware Users can access cloud resources which include GeForce RTX 5080 equipped systems.

The transition to beta brings ten new games into the GeForce NOW library. This week features remastered classic games. The week presents a selection of survival simulation games together with the revival of classic titles.
