HMD Luma New Entry Level 4G Handset with 120Hz Screen
The Luma smartphone launch by HMD expands its budget smartphone range. The 4G device provides basic functions through its essential hardware and backward compatible features that modern phones no longer support, including expandable storage and a physical headphone jack. HMD has officially added the device to its regional websites for Nigeria and Ghana on February 28, 2026.
The Luma displays a 6.67 inch LCD panel which produces smooth motion as its main display feature. The display system shows the following important measurements

- The display resolution reaches HD+ at 720 x 1,604 pixels.
- The display achieves its maximum brightness level of 500 nits.
The Luma operates with a 12nm Unisoc chipset (T7250) which contains eight processing cores that combine Cortex A75 and A55 cores running at 1.8 GHz. The system memory and storage capacity work for basic daily operational needs
- The system has 4 GB of RAM memory.
- The system provides two internal storage choices of 128 GB and 256 GB capacity.
- The system provides a microSD card slot which enables users to add up to 1 TB of extra storage space.
- The system comes with Android 15 pre installed.
The camera setup includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor on the rear and an 8 megapixel front facing sensor for selfies. The device runs on a 5,000 mAh battery which lets users charge through its USB C 2.0 port at 18W.
The HMD Luma features multiple traditional components which entry level customers still value, unlike most current smartphones. The device provides users with a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones, an FM radio receiver, and stereo speakers, which serve as its audio output functions. The device provides wireless connections through Bluetooth 5.0 and dual SIM 4G LTE technology. The device uses a fingerprint sensor located on the power button to provide biometric security functions.
The Luma smartphone from HMD comes in two color options which include Titanium and Blue. The manufacturer has not shared any pricing information for the device, which appears on official sales listings in specific African regions. The chassis design includes a side mounted fingerprint scanner and an 11.5 inch form factor that shares design language with the HMD Vibe series.
