Intel and SambaNova Partnership for Heterogeneous AI Infrastructure
The multiyear strategic partnership between Intel and SambaNova enables them to develop heterogeneous infrastructure that combines different computing resources with their unified software system. The partnership aims to develop AI inference solutions which provide affordable pricing for AInative companies and model providers and government organizations. Through this partnership Intel Capital established its commitment to AI platforms which combine hardware and software by investing in SambaNovas Series E round.
The partnership between the two organizations focuses on connecting Intels Xeon infrastructure to SambaNovas dedicated AI platform. The solution enables organizations with various AI workloads to perform inference through a racklevel system which offers specialized performance. The partnership uses Intels CPU architecture and SambaNovas systems to meet its technical requirements for conducting inference across international data centers.
The strategic initiative aims to capture an inference market which generates revenues of multiple billion dollars. The solution works together with Intels current data center GPU products. The initiative does not replace Intels internal GPU development; instead, it strengthens the companys edgetocloud AI roadmap. Intel maintains its GPU IP and architectural development and system software investment to create AI computing products which fulfill all AI computing needs.
The joint project involves two partners who seek to create a new architecture model for AI data centers. The components of heterogeneous integration system requirements include:
- Compute: Intel Xeon processors and Intel GPUs provide the primary processing power.
- Systems: SambaNova AI systems integrated for highperformance model execution.
- Connectivity: The Intel networking and storage systems create infrastructure which enables data processing between devices while controlling both throughput and latency.
- Software: The system provides a uniform modelbased foundation which enables organizations to build enterprise AI systems.
The Intel and SambaNova partnership focuses on highdemand sectors which need scalable systems to handle their testing needs.
