The February 2026 State of Play presentation featured God of War Trilogy and MGS4 plus all major announcements which took place during the event
Did you catch the show tonight The program contained major developments which required constant attention. The State of Play event from February 2026 just ended, and I believe it presents the most complex display we have observed in recent years.
We went into this expecting a few updates, but Sony delivered an hour long barrage of nostalgia, new IPs, and some announcements that genuinely shocked us (MGS4 is finally free from the PS3 jail). The presentation contained numerous things to explore from Kratos' return to the Resident Evil series.

The Big Heavy Hitters
God of War Trilogy Remake & Sons of Sparta
Sony ended the presentation with its most emotional moment. The God of War Trilogy will receive a complete remake according to official confirmation.
We aren't talking about a simple remaster. This project involves creating a complete remake of Kratos' entire Greek saga for the PS5 console. The original voice actor TC Carson visited the event to present his work on the project which remains in development.
The team at the event offered us a special surprise. The team launched God of War Sons of Sparta, which serves as a 2D side scrolling prequel that follows young Kratos.
Release Date Sons of Sparta is OUT NOW; Trilogy Remake is TBD.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2
The time has finally arrived. After many delays, Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots will become available on current gaming systems. Konami confirmed Vol. 2 will include MGS4 and the fan favorite Peace Walker.
Release Date August 27, 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom offered us another glimpse into its upcoming main series game. Resident Evil Requiem features Leon S. Kennedy and a character named Grace. The trailer showed off a return to the Raccoon City Police Department and some intense zombie slaying action. The game presents a combination of methodical horror elements together with the fast paced action found in the remakes.

Kena Scars of Kosmora
The show opened with a stunner. Kena Scars of Kosmora serves as the sequel to Bridge of Spirits. Kena looks older, the world looks bigger, and the combat has been completely overhauled. The first game displayed impressive graphics, but this one looks breathtaking on PS5.
Release Date 2026 on PS5 and PC.
Action & Adventure
Ghost of Yōtei Legends
Sucker Punch returned to the stage to reveal the multiplayer component for their latest samurai epic. Ghost of Yōtei Legends offers four player co op gaming through its four different character classes. Players will battle demon armies while fighting legendary adversaries.
Release Date March 10, 2026 (Free for owners of the base game).
007 First Light
IO Interactive (the Hitman devs) showed off a new story trailer for their James Bond origin story. A younger Bond who acts recklessly begins his training in the field. The trailer featured a mix of gunplay, hand to hand combat, and that classic Bond atmosphere.

John Wick
Sabre Interactive announced the development of an official John Wick game. The trailer features Keanu Reeves' likeness which shows him defeating enemies in combat. The product we received was concise and brutal while meeting our exact expectations.

Star Wars Galactic Racer
Get ready for some arcade racing action. Galactic Racer offers a high speed space journey which includes massive collisions and extraordinary alien worlds.

Control Resonant
Remedy presented the sequel to Control. Control Resonant features Dylan and a much more aggressive combat style. The gameplay showed a boss battle happening in an urban environment plus some astonishing visual experiences.

Horror & Sci Fi
Silent Hill Townfall
Konami is on a roll. Silent Hill Townfall is a first person horror experience which results from a partnership between Annapurna and the two companies. The trailer showed medical equipment which would belong in a horror film with its terrifying hospital equipment.

Death Stranding 2 On The Beach (PC Update)
Kojima Productions confirmed that the new version of Death Stranding 2 will go live for PC with three major upgrades which include unlocked frame rates plus ultrawide support and DualSense functionality.

Pragmata
It feels like we’ve been waiting forever, but Pragmata is real. The new trailer for the sci fi puzzle shooter shows two main characters who fight against monsters. You can play it right now.

Marathon
Bungie released a psychological thriller trailer for Marathon. The team announced the upcoming "Server Slam" beta testing period.
Beta Dates Feb 26 – March 2.

Returns, Remakes & Remasters
- Legacy of Kain Defiance Remastered The classic returns with a photo mode and updated visuals. The movie will come out on March 3.
- Legacy of Kain Ascendance Surprise A totally new side scrolling entry in the series. The movie will come out on March 31.
- Rayman 30th Anniversary A collection of five playable versions of the original game, including a lost prototype. The game will be available at the following time tomorrow (Feb 13).
- Castlevania Belmont’s Curse A brand new 2D Castlevania set in France Developed by Evil Empire (the Dead Cells DLC folks). The movie will come out in 2026.
- Dead or Alive 6 Last Round A massive update for PS5 with new costumes. The team revealed their plans to create a brand new Dead or Alive project which will celebrate the 30th Anniversary. The movie will come out on June 25.
The Indie & AA Highlights
- The Indie & AA Highlights section includes four items which contain information about the upcoming release of LOOP.
- The fantasy strategy RPG Brigandine Abyss will return to gamers this year.
- The 2026 release of Crimson Moon introduces a brutal melee action game which allows players to tear demons apart.
- The action RPG Beast of Reincarnation from Game Freak will release on August 4.
- The creators of Shovel Knight developed Mina the Hollower which will release its PS5 exclusive demo tomorrow.
- The indie hit Neva will receive its prequel through Neva Prologue which will launch on February 19.
- The stealth action game Yakoh Shinobi Ops will use a top down perspective through its release in 2027.
- The AAA fantasy game Project Windless allows players to become a muscular rooster man who fights against monsters.
- The tactical game Darwin's Paradox combines octopus action with puzzle platforming elements and its demo will launch tomorrow while the full game arrives on April 2.
- Rev. Noir represents a stylish new JRPG from Konami.
- The latest roguelike shooter from Housemarque named Saros includes permanent upgrades which players can obtain during gameplay.
- The fighting game Marvel Tōkon introduces new X Men characters which include Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger and will release on August 6.
- Sony complete the presentation by adding multiple valuable items to the PS Plus catalog.
- The release dates for the following items include Marvel's Spider Man 2 on February 17 and Tekken Dark Resurrection in March and Time Crisis in May and Big Walk which will launch in 2026.
