Intel Arc Driver 101.8626 WHQL Introduces New Shader Distribution Service to Accelerate Loading Times While Providing Key Game Optimizations and Performance Improvements for Arc B series and Core Ultra Processors

The Intel Arc Driver 101.8626 WHQL version provides precompiled shaders alongside improved performance capabilities. Intel has released the 101.8626 WHQL graphics driver which supports Arc GPUs and Core Ultra processors. The Intel Graphics Shader Distribution Service presents a new capability which eliminates the waiting time people experience when they first launch a game because it needs to compile shaders. The driver includes day one optimizations for both Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Everwind.

The update introduces a new system which enables users to receive their shaders through a cloud based delivery method. Intel creates its own shader precompilation process which now uses Microsoft DirectX Advanced Shader Delivery system to send shaders directly to users through Intel Graphics Software. This process stops your GPU from needing to complete heavy compilation tasks which would normally occur when you start a game.

Performance Impact Intel reports that first load times are now up to 2x faster on average for Arc B series and Core Ultra Series 2/3 hardware. The game God of War Ragnarök achieved loading speed upgrades which reached 21x on discrete GPUs and 37x on integrated Arc graphics.

At launch, 13 titles are compatible with the new shader distribution service:

  • Black Myth: Wukong
  • Borderlands 4
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7
  • Cyberpunk 2077
  • God of War Ragnarök
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
  • Starfield
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered

The 101.8626 driver improves Nioh 3 performance through its loading time enhancements. Users who operate an Arc B series GPU at 1080p Ultra settings will experience a 9% increase in average FPS when they use this driver compared to the former driver. The update provides "Game On" support for 2026 games while ensuring that A series and B series hardware will remain stable.

The WHQL release addresses multiple long standing bugs which affected both Arc B series and Core Ultra Series 3 users.

  • Naraka Bladepoint: Fixed a crash that occurred when Ray Tracing was enabled.
  • Hogwarts Legacy: Resolved cinematics corruption issues.
  • DaVinci Resolve Studio: The application fixed visual corruption that affected the viewport when users resized windows while HDR remained active. The application crashed Intel Graphics Software when users tried to change settings through keyboard navigation.

Intel has reported multiple bugs which the company is currently working to resolve because this release represents a crucial software update.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: Possible water texture corruption on Arc B series and Core Ultra Series 2.
  • The Finals: Intermittent crashing on Core Ultra Series 3.
  • Star Citizen: Potential crash on launch across multiple Arc platforms.
  • Adobe Premiere Pro: Export crashes on specific Windows builds for Core Ultra Series 3.

The Performance Tuning feature remains in Beta testing for users who own multiple GPUs because it presently affects all GPUs instead of only the selected device.
