Lenovo Unveils Advanced ThinkPad and IdeaPad Systems at MWC 2026
Lenovo unveiled its advanced ThinkPad and IdeaPad systems at MWC 2026. The Mobile World Congress 2026 event in Barcelona saw Lenovo launch its complete portable computing lineup update. The announcements introduce an entirely new design for the flagship ThinkPad T series while introducing an ultra slim IdeaPad Slim and a powerful detachable 2 in 1 device that will compete against the Surface Pro series.
The Redesigned ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 and T16 Gen 5
The main design of the ThinkPad T series has experienced its most substantial transformation since many years. The 14 inch T14 Gen 7 and 16 inch T16 Gen 5 display complete exterior redesigns in their design and operational systems. The T14 now comes with a new Cosmic Blue color option which replaces its previous gray color options.
- Processor Options The device supports both Intel Panther Lake (Core Ultra 300) and AMD Gorgon Point (Ryzen AI 400) processors.
- Memory Innovation Intel based models now utilize LPCAMM2 LPDDR5X memory for higher efficiency, while AMD versions retain standard SO DIMM slots. Both models support memory expansion to 64 GB.
- Battery and Repairability The T14 Gen 7 battery has received an upgrade to 75 Wh capacity. The latest models now come with USB C ports that use a modular design and a service friendly internal battery system which supports rapid battery replacement.
- Pricing The T14 has a starting price of €1,400 while the T16 starts at €1,500 with both products becoming available in April 2026.
IdeaPad Slim 5i Ultra Thin and Light Mobility
The IdeaPad Slim 5i Ultra is a 14 inch Intel powered laptop targeting mobile professionals. The product achieves maximum portable performance through its weight of 1.15 kg and its thinnest point measurement of 11.9 mm while maintaining display performance.
- Display Users can select between two display options which include a 120Hz IPS LCD and a high vibrancy OLED panel, both of which maintain a 16 10 aspect ratio.
- Power The 65Wh battery enables 20 hours of video playback from local content. The device features Rapid Charge Boost which provides 2 hours of power after a 15 minute charging session.
- Release Details The product will launch in June 2026 with an initial cost of €899.
Convertibles and Detachables X13 and ThinkBook
Lenovo increased its two in one and detachable product range for customers who need touch and stylus capabilities. The latest devices run on Intel Panther Lake U series processors.
ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1 The 13 inch device uses a 3 2 aspect ratio to display 2.8K IPS video content with 120Hz dynamic refresh rate. The device weighs 1.25 kg with its keyboard folio and features two Thunderbolt 4 ports which support up to 64 GB of RAM. The device will launch in July 2026 with an initial cost of €1,949.
ThinkPad T14s 2 in 1 Gen 2 The T14s premium chassis serves as the foundation for this convertible device. The device enables users to store their stylus inside the system through its garaged pen functionality. The device will release in May 2026 for €1,750 as an exclusive Intel Panther Lake product.
ThinkBook 14 2 in 1 Gen 6 The business convertible device uses Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors for its mid range classification. The product supports Magic Bay Tiko clip on display functionality while it will launch in June 2026 at a volume market price of €799.
Ultra Premium Portability ThinkPad T14s Gen 7
The new ThinkPad T14s Gen 7 achieves a weight reduction to 1.1 kg for users who need lighter devices. The model at MWC 2026 offers Intel Panther Lake, AMD Gorgon Point, and Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite as its three available processor choices. The newly installed USB C port on the right side enables charging from both left and right sides. The product will launch in April 2026 with an initial cost of €1,700.
