Lenovo unveiled two new mobile workstations during the Nvidia GTC 2026 conference which introduced the ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 and the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD. The new AMD based systems introduce advanced hardware capabilities with their second tier models which deliver professional performance at lower costs than the P1 series flagship model.

The ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 now uses a single mechanical design for all its Intel and AMD models. The AMD version gains the ability to use its first dedicated graphics card through this design alteration. Users can select between different GPU options which include the NVIDIA RTX Pro 2000 Blackwell GPU with 8 GB VRAM for this 16 inch device.

The system permits users to choose between Intel Core Ultra Series 3 H series processors and AMD Ryzen AI 400 series processors which include the Ryzen HX 9. The model introduces LPCAMM2 memory support which enables AMD laptops to handle RAM capacities up to 96 GB.

The system supports up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470 APU together with its Radeon 890M integrated graphics capabilities. The P14s Gen 7 AMD model provides essential built in graphics capabilities which enable users to access extensive memory and storage options unlike its bigger 16 inch model.

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 AMD will be the first product to launch when it arrives in April. The Intel based ThinkPad P16s Gen 5 will release in May while the AMD variant will complete the product launch sequence in June.

The official P series pricing remains unknown yet the workstations which fall under the ThinkPad P1 Gen 9 line will provide businesses with technical capabilities which maintain cost efficiency.
