Panasonic TOUGHBOOK 56 MK1 Is a Highly Modular 14 Inch Rugged Laptop Featuring Intel Core Ultra 200H Technology Radeon PRO W7500M Graphics and 24 Hour Battery Life Built for Demanding Professional Workplaces
The TOUGHBOOK 56 MK1 14 inch rugged laptop from Panasonic has been developed for use in demanding professional workplaces. The device contains a modular design which enables users to change hardware elements according to their current operational needs in addition to its protective outer shell.
The TOUGHBOOK 56 MK1 features a 14 inch display that operates at a 1920x1200 resolution. The panel has a maximum brightness level of 1000 nits which enables users to see the screen content during sunny conditions. The system provides an additional 10 point touchscreen option which enables users to interact with the device by using gloves or multiple fingers.
The system uses Intel Core Ultra 200H processor technology for its internal hardware components. The system specifications include the following details
- Memory: The device can accommodate 64GB of DDR5 RAM memory.
- Storage: The system supports NVMe SSDs with a maximum capacity of 2TB.
- Graphics: Users can choose the Radeon PRO W7500M which includes 8GB of dedicated video memory for demanding graphics processing tasks.
- Connectivity: The system provides Wi Fi 7 support through an Intel BE211 adapter and includes built in cellular and GNSS capabilities.
The 56 MK1 system provides its users with three separate expansion zones which enable them to create various hardware setups according to their needs.
- Left Bay: The system allows users to choose between two storage options: a secondary SSD or a traditional DVD drive or a 10GbE network interface.
- Right Bay: The system can accommodate either an additional battery pack or a secure fingerprint authentication module.
- Rear Bay: The rear bay allows users to connect a third network port at 2.5GbE speed or multiple specialized input/output ports.
The magnesium alloy chassis of the device has a base weight of 2 kg (4.4 lbs). The product meets military grade durability requirements according to MIL STD 810H standards and it can withstand drops from heights up to 91 cm. The laptop has an IP53 certification which protects it from both dust particles and water spray.
The device can run continuously for 24 hours in field conditions when it uses two batteries. The system includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports and two USB Type A ports and HDMI and Gigabit Ethernet as its standard port options.
Panasonic has confirmed that the TOUGHBOOK 56 MK1 will go on sale in May 2026. The pricing structure requires users to select their desired modular components and GPU options because the base price has not been established yet.
