Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Leaks Indicate Stagnant Battery and Camera Hardware
The initial technical specifications of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 show that the upcoming device will launch in July 2026 without any enhancements to its battery power or camera imaging capabilities. Samsung has spent two years upgrading its products but now uses software improvements and price control instead of expanding its physical sensor and battery technology.
According to GalaxyClub leaks the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will have a dual battery system that matches the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in battery capacity. The two internal units are identified by the following details
- The first unit EB BF776 has a capacity of 1,150 mAh.
- The second unit EB BF777 has a capacity of 3,024 mAh.
- Total Rated Capacity 4,174 mAh.
- The typical capacity which manufacturers use for advertising purposes stands at 4,300 mAh.
The current situation represents a change from the earlier two generations because the Z Flip 6 and Z Flip 7 had previous capacity increases from 3,700 mAh to 4,000 mAh and 4,300 mAh respectively. Samsung will maintain its use of standard lithium ion technology for Flip 8.
The technical leaks about Z Flip 8 photo capabilities have revealed all necessary details about its camera system. The internal sensors and lens apertures will undergo small changes but the primary megapixel values will remain the same as in the 2025 model
- The primary camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels.
- The ultrawide camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels.
- The front facing camera which is used for selfies has a resolution of 10 megapixels.
The dedicated telephoto lens continues to be absent for yet another generation. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 will feature a 50 megapixel ultrawide sensor which provides higher resolution capabilities when compared to the current hardware of the Z Flip devices.
Energy efficiency improvements enable devices to maintain their original battery capacity while providing longer operating times. The Galaxy S26 series demonstrates that Samsung has achieved longer battery life with identical mAh ratings when compared to the S25 series. The Z Flip 8 will use the same chipset and display optimization methods that enhance real world battery performance.
Samsung will stick to its current product release schedule according to market analysts who study industry trends. The main market information shows that
- The expected unveiling date will occur in July 2026.
- The anticipated base model price for 256GB storage will be around €1,199.
The market strategy for Flip series products this year indicates that Samsung will keep their original price from last year while limiting their hardware innovations for this product line.
