DJI introduces the Osmo Pocket 4 to improve portable film making capabilities through its updated camera system. The Osmo Pocket 4 functions as an upgraded version of the pocket camera series which DJI launched since its original release. The company establishes its solution for common creator challenges through its approach of revealing hardware specifications while showing their system's processing abilities. The manufacturer has designed the device to achieve better light management through its new 1 inch sensor which can capture 14 stops of dynamic range that delivers stable performance in challenging light conditions.

DJI has completed a redesign of the user interface which now includes new methods for users to physically navigate. The 2 inch tilting OLED serves as a screen that was taken from the previous generation while the screen now shows a changing interface that creates landscape specific shortcuts when it is turned. The system introduces a 5D joystick that provides improved control for gimbal operations through its advanced design. The most important hardware update introduces 107GB of built in storage which enables users to achieve 800 MB/s data transfer rates but DJI still provides a microSD slot for users who need extra storage.

The device now establishes its highest achievement in slow motion filming by enabling 4K video capture at 240 frames per second. The development of still photography has moved forward with new image processing algorithms which boost the output from 9.4 MP to a much sharper 37 MP resolution. The internal software suite has gained new functionality through the addition of a film style color filter catalog and a special profile which replicates traditional Fuji film aesthetics.

ActiveTrack 7.0 deployment has led to improvements in operational intelligence. The updated tracking system uses more powerful tracking methods to maintain subject focus on people, animals, and vehicles when they use zoom functions. The device enables solo creators to control recording and tracking functions through gesture based controls which eliminate their need to touch the device. The new kit is currently available in international markets at an entry price of $400 to $600 depending on the region and selected configuration.
