Honor Launches X5d and X5d Plus Ultra Budget Smartphones with Helio G81 Chips Large 6.74 Inch IPS Displays and High Resolution Camera Sensors
Honor Expands Entry level Catalog with X5d and X5d Plus Launch. Honor introduces its new X5d and X5d Plus smartphones to strengthen its presence in the ultra budget market. The shared chassis design and internal platform of both devices create different user experiences which depend on their storage capacity and primary sensor quality. The manufacturer has opted to debut both models in blue and black finishes, aiming for the price sensitive demographic.
The hardware design features a 6.74 inch IPS display which delivers a resolution of 720x1600 pixels. Honor has prioritized user facing utility by integrating Eye Comfort and Dynamic Dimming software to mitigate eye strain. The Helio G81 chipset powers performance in both models which come with 4 GB of RAM. The system needs a 5260 mAh battery to operate its internal components because this battery capacity lets the device run its low resolution display for extended times.
The primary differentiation between the two models lies in their data storage and optical capabilities. The base Honor X5d offers 64 GB of flash storage, whereas the X5d Plus expands this to 128 GB. The camera department follows the same storage tiering system as the X5d entry level model which uses a 13 megapixel primary sensor for rear photography and the X5d Plus model which features a 50 megapixel sensor. Both handsets share a uniform 5 megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The devices maintain identical connectivity options which include a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type C support, Bluetooth 5.1, and all basic 4G LTE and GPS functions. The system uses an embedded fingerprint scanner to control access. The Honor X5d enters the market with a price tag of $97, while the X5d Plus is positioned slightly higher at $118, reflecting the improved storage and camera specifications.
