Meta and AWS partnership reveals the massive scale of 10 million custom silicon cores

Meta forms a massive industrial scale agreement with Amazon Web Services to deploy 10 million Graviton cores for agentic intelligence and server optimization

Meta has formed a partnership with Amazon Web Services to support the extensive implementation of autonomous intelligence technology. The global computational landscape underwent a significant transformation on April 24 2026 when Meta established an industrial scale agreement with Amazon Web Services. The social media company now operates a system that deploys about 10 million Graviton cores according to the latest official statement from Amazon. Meta's strategic change makes it the biggest user of Amazon custom silicon worldwide while the company plans to start using Amazon custom silicon to process large AI workloads.

The autonomous agents of the new era require different strength capabilities than the GPU dependent training cycles which defined the previous era of artificial intelligence. Santosh Janardhan the head of Meta infrastructure stated that the company needs to use multiple computing sources because its intelligence goals require increasing operational capacity. The deployment centers on Graviton5 chips which companies design to perform CPU heavy operations that involve complex reasoning and immediate code creation. The new autonomous agents must manage multiple process workflows while they search through real time systems which requires them to use CPU resources efficiently instead of relying on high graphical output.

The technical foundation of this deal rests on the three nanometer architecture found in the latest Graviton silicon. The processors possess 192 cores together with a cache which exceeds the previous generation hardware by five times its size. The system achieves an internal memory increase which permits a 33 percent decrease in processing core communication delays. Meta achieves a 25 percent performance enhancement from its new infrastructure while it maintains complete compliance with its sustainability and power usage requirements.

The alliance uses AWS Nitro System which combines specially developed hardware and software to achieve optimal security and operational capabilities.  Amazon stated that this partnership establishes the base for AI systems which can recognize and meet the requirements of billions of individuals. Meta uses bare metal instances together with the Elastic Fabric Adapter to enable high speed processor communication which connects all of its thousands of processors. The distributed tasks require thousands of cores to work together as a single unit in order to complete the user request.

Meta improves its server architecture through its shift from using standard components toward developing custom chips. This strategic decision enables businesses to manage their hardware components and software systems through centralized control which becomes essential for achieving success in the autonomous agent industry. The AWS cloud resource flexibility will enable Meta to expand its core count for upcoming intelligence developments throughout the rest of the decade.
