| Whats in the box |
This keyboard uses the popular 75% layout. This design removes the bulk of a full sized numpad, yet it keeps the essential function row and dedicated arrow keys. The outcome is a compact design that frees up desk space for wider mouse movements, all without making you memorize complex key shortcuts. We will now explore what makes this mid range option feel surprisingly high end.
Design and Build Quality
The main body of the TH80 V2 is made from standard plastic, which is what you'd expect for its price. However, EPOMAKER did not compromise on the parts your fingers actually touch. The keyboard includes durable, double shot PBT keycaps. Unlike less expensive ABS plastic, which tends to get shiny and slick over time, these PBT caps maintain their textured feel and structural integrity even after extensive use. Designed with the classic Cherry profile, they offer a familiar and comfortable typing angle.
In addition to the practical layout, which includes 79 keys, there is a smooth multimedia rotary knob positioned in the top right corner. By default, this knob provides quick and easy volume control, but it can be reconfigured using software to better suit your individual work habits.
The Acoustics
If you appreciate keyboards for their deep "thock" sound, the TH80 V2 will likely leave a strong impression. EPOMAKER has incorporated a refined Gasket Mount structure, paired with a substantial five layers of sound dampening. Through a deliberate combination of PORON, IPXE foam, latex, and silicone bottom pads, this keyboard effectively prevents hollow pings and case rattle. The typing experience feels deeply cushioned, resulting in a subdued yet satisfying acoustic profile that some describe as ASMR like.
The hot swappable PCB is designed to support both 3 pin and 5 pin switches, offering considerable flexibility for customization. Despite this, the included switch options are remarkably good. You have the choice of Creamy Jade switches these are linear switches with a light 45g actuation force and a short pre travel, providing a very smooth keystroke. Alternatively, there are the Sea Salt Silent V2 switches. These switches incorporate built in dampening materials to significantly reduce the bottom out noise, making them an excellent choice for late night gaming sessions or use in shared office spaces.
Gaming Performance and Connectivity
While this keyboard offers a refined typing experience, it is also very capable in competitive gaming situations. Equipped with N Key rollover and anti ghosting technology, the TH80 V2 readily manages the rapid, multi key inputs often required in action RPGs, platformers, and real time strategy games.
The keyboard offers very versatile connectivity with tri mode support. For the absolute lowest latency, around 2ms, you can use the wired USB C connection. If you prefer a wireless setup, the 2.4GHz dongle, which is conveniently tucked away under the keyboard's feet, provides an excellent 1000Hz polling rate and approximately 5ms of latency. This performance is nearly identical to a wired connection for most gamers. Lastly, Bluetooth mode enables you to connect and quickly switch between various devices such as laptops, tablets, and desktop PCs.

Battery Life and Software
Many wireless keyboards can cause concern about battery life, but EPOMAKER addressed this by integrating a substantial 8,000 mAh battery into the TH80 V2's compact design. With the RGB lighting turned off, you can anticipate over 200 hours of continuous operation. Even when the vibrant, south facing RGB LEDs are active, along with the distinctive side profile decorative lights, the keyboard still delivers a very respectable 40 hours of use.
Using EPOMAKER's dedicated software, the keyboard is fully programmable. This means you can reassign keys, create intricate macros, and customize the RGB lighting patterns to complement your specific setup.
