Xiaomi Targets Premium Laptop Market with New Redmi Book Pro 2026 Lineup Featuring Intel Panther Lake Hardware
The Redmi Book Pro 2026 series marks the first domestic launch of Xiaomi's new hardware line which enables the company to fully implement Intel Panther Lake processors. The rollout includes two distinct screen sizes, both maintaining a slim chassis profile of 15.9 millimeters.
The 14 inch variant serves as the entry level product for the series which features an IPS display with 2880 by 1800 resolution. This screen reaches a 120 hertz refresh rate and maintains a brightness output of 500 nits with full sRGB color coverage. The 16 inch model improves screen space by upgrading to a 3200 by 2000 resolution display which supports a 165 hertz refresh rate while maintaining the color fidelity of its smaller counterpart.
The two models differ in their battery life and their ability to be easily transported. The 16 inch version houses a 99 watt hour battery, with Xiaomi claiming local video playback longevity of over 30 hours. The 14 inch model opts for a 92 watt hour cell to save weight, resulting in a chassis that weighs approximately 3.29 pounds, compared to the 4.15 pounds for the larger unit.
The series provides modern connectivity through its various input options. Users gain access to one Thunderbolt 4 port alongside one full function USB Type C connector. The physical side rails also host two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A ports, a single HDMI 2.1 output, and a standard 3.5 millimeter audio jack.
Xiaomi has separated its performance capabilities into three different hardware categories. The basic setup uses the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor with 24 gigabytes of memory and a 1 terabyte solid state drive. Mid tier models upgrade to the Intel Core Ultra 5 338H which includes Arc B370 graphics and supports 32 gigabytes of memory. The flagship offering features the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H which uses Arc B390 graphics processing unit and supports 32 gigabytes of system memory.
The 14 inch model has a domestic price range starting from 6999 Chinese Yuan aprox 1099 US dollars to 9499 Chinese Yuan aprox1399 US dollars for the most advanced model. The 16 inch Redmi Book Pro starts at 7199 Chinese Yuan or 1129 US dollars, with the most capable version priced at 9499 Chinese Yuan about 1429 US dollars. The company has established global availability for previous laptop models but no announcement exists regarding the international launch schedule for the 2026 series.
