XPeng GX SUV Debuts at Beijing Auto Show 2026 Combining Premium Luxury Features with Advanced Autonomous Robotaxi Technology and AI Engineering
XPeng GX SUV combines luxurious vehicles with self driving taxi technology. XPeng has officially used the Beijing Auto Show 2026 to present its most advanced vehicle yet, which happens to be the GX premium crossover. The three row family vehicle built on the SEPA 3.0 platform marks a major brand transformation because it presents the first consumer vehicle designed for upcoming robotaxi functions. The GX begins its price range at 58000 dollars in China while it targets luxury markets by delivering both high range capabilities and state of the art AI technology.
The GX technical system uses the second generation VLA autonomous driving system as its fundamental technological framework. The hardware system operates through four Turing AI chips which provide 3000 TOPS of total computing power. According to XPeng official reports, this allows the vehicle to operate with Level 4 readiness. The system relies on steer by wire technology which Bosch developed as its main operational component. The onboard AI system can perform maneuvers with superior speed and precise accuracy because the system eliminates all physical links between the steering wheel and front tires.
The system uses six layers of aviation grade technology to create safety backup systems because all six layers of the system handle essential operational functions. The system includes all vital operational systems that protect the ability to unlock doors while people access both power supply and braking systems. The active safety suite operates with an extreme level of defense through its automated emergency braking system that can stop moving vehicles up to 150 kilometers per hour. The automated emergency steering system takes control at 130 kilometers per hour to handle dangerous environments which include ice and snow weather conditions.
The GX offers two all wheel drive systems to meet different consumer preferences. The pure electric version uses an 800 volt silicon carbide system which permits 5C supercharging to achieve a 750 kilometer driving range. The extended range version provides buyers with a total driving distance of 1585 kilometers which enables them to travel between distant locations without difficulties. The hybrid system uses its internal combustion engine solely as a generator to recharge the battery, which allows the vehicle to operate entirely on electric power.
The GX establishes itself as a sizable vehicle with dimensions of 5265 millimeters length and 3115 millimeters wheelbase. Despite its size, the vehicle achieves a 0.255 drag coefficient which makes it more aerodynamic than many smaller cars. The family friendly interior space provides comfortable seating for six people through its second row design which includes separate seating units. The cabin contains a noise cancelling refrigerator and dimming privacy glass together with a co pilot seat that reclines fully to 180 degrees.
The price of 399800 yuan makes the GX the highest priced vehicle in the XPeng vehicle collection. The vehicle provides luxury hand painted exterior treatments and European SUV comparable technology at a much lower price point, yet the Chinese market stays extremely competitive. Industry observers at the Beijing Auto Show confirmed that the building materials match international standards yet the premium costs encounter severe competition from rivals such as Li Auto and NIO. XPeng has started pre ordering with a minimal deposit to begin its transition into an AI based transportation business.
