CI Games Epic Games Separation Agreement Ends Publishing Deal But Preserves Unreal Engine Use

CI Games Epic Games Separation Agreement Terminating Publishing Deal While Maintaining Unreal Engine Fortnite Services and Technical Collaboration Relations

Management Board of CI Games SE announced that has signed a Separation Agreement with Epic Games Inc. Thus Warsaw based developer is no longer bound by the conditions set forth in a Binding Publishing Term Sheet executed earlier on 14 June 2024. In accordance with the Current Report 20 2026 the agreement was executed in April 14 2026 but remained confidential until now in order to protect the legitimate interests of the company throughout the transitional period.

The aforementioned termination refers to the publishing arrangement solely and does not mark the full termination of cooperation between the 2 parties involved. CI Games confirmed that current collaboration in the sphere of the Unreal Engine will be preserved in its entirety. Additionally developer will continue to use the Epic online services and account services while maintain its present participation in the Fortnite environment, technical and service relations which are governed by other contracts will not be interrupted by this separation.

The deferment of this news dissemination was a deliberate choice on the part of the CI Games Management Board; initially signed in April, the agreement was conditional and contained strict confidentiality clauses throughout its operation. According to the Management Board, withholding the data until mid May was necessary to avoid confusing shareholders with potentially preliminary information. CI Games stated that the disclosure under Article 17 of the Market Abuse Regulation fully complies with the transparency standards established by the European Parliament.

This report provides the shareholders with clear information on the current changes in company’s publishing policy. CI Games will be able to have more control over the release schedule after being relieved of the obligation to be published by Epic Games while technical benefits derived from the use of the Epic software suite will not be interrupted. The company will then report this corporate announcement to the Polish Financial Supervision Authority in order to confirm that the conditions for delay were satisfied in accordance with the guidelines established by 2026 regulations.
