Dell Launches Alienware 15 Gaming Laptop Alongside Professional 14S and 16S Workstation Models with Advanced Hardware and High Resolution Displays

Dell has launched three new models, targeting the gaming and professional markets, expanding its portable computer range. These include the gaming focused Alienware 15 and the more versatile workstation models 14S and 16S. Dell corporate communications state each model is available in a variety of hardware configurations and budget limits.

The Dell Alienware 15 acts as the dedicated gaming model in this series of 3. The CPU available is either the AMD Ryzen 5 220 or the Ryzen 7 260; or the Intel Core 5 210H or the Core 7 240H. The graphics option available ranges from the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 and the new RTX 5050 and the RTX 5060. The heat dissipation is managed by a dual fan, triple heat pipe system.

The visual interface on this gaming rig is the 15.3 inch IPS panel with resolution 1920x1200; a display that sports the usual refresh rate of 165Hz and is rated to the usual 300nits and 62.5% sRGB coverage, with AMD FreeSync Premium support. RAM options range from 8 GB up to 32 GB of DDR5 5600. Storage can be selected as an NVMe PCIe Gen 4 drive in 512 GB or 1 TB variants. Communication includes Wi Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, battery sizes available from 54 – 70 Wh.

The Dell 16S offers Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips from the Ultra 5 322 to the more performant Ultra 9 386H processor, utilizing integrated graphics and up to 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5X 7467 memory. Available storage starts at 512 GB and goes up to a huge 2 TB; there is a 70 Wh battery included, as well as Wi Fi 7 and a built in infrared webcam that enables biometric login.

The 14S, essentially a smaller variant of the 16S sharing the same processor, also comes with a choice of displays. The larger 16 inch models have IPS displays and 400nits displays or a touch sensitive OLED with a resolution of 2880x1800, and a 100% P3 color gamut; the 14 inch variant is available with the same choice of display panel except that these vary slightly from standard 1920x1200 IPS displays through to specialist touch OLEDs.

Dell 14S and 16S and Alienware 15 Pricing and Market Availability

Both the 14S and 16S models will be available in the United States of America at the end of May starting at $1269 and $1319 respectively. The Alienware 15 doesn't currently have a set availability date although Dell has stated that it will be starting at $1299. All three of the new machines will feature backlit keyboard and high resolution webcams with an integrated dual microphone setup.
