Finalmouse Starlight X Gaming Mouse Redesign Features Ultra Lightweight Carbon Fiber Shell And Advanced TMR Dual State Switch Hardware

Finalmouse has officially unveiled its newest gaming peripheral, the Starlight X, and with it, the company has completely redesigned its flagship mouse for the first time in over 11 years. Designed primarily for competitive shooters, Finalmouse emphasized both an ultra lightweight construction and extremely low latency at every possible stage, noting in the official announcement that the device's extremely low weight is made possible through the use of advanced materials instead of extremely aggressive cut outs.

The shell of the mouse uses a carbon fiber composite material which is the key to it being only 38 grams. Finalmouse has also completely re profiled the mouse into a fully symmetrical design and added a more pronounced palm support near the tail of the device. Its dimensions are 124.8 x 58.9 x 39.5 millimeters, and for better rigidity when squeezing the shell, the manufacturer included less holes in the top of the shell this time.

At the heart of the Starlight X is the company's custom TMR Dual State switch. These buttons use tunneling magnetoresistive tech to detect presses without losing the feel of a mechanical switch and offer programmable features often found in custom mechanical keyboard gaming accessories like rapid trigger and custom debounce and actuation points, with Finalmouse promising input latency reduction by as much as 35 milliseconds compared to mechanical switches.

Under the hood the mouse uses the in house Finalmouse F1 sensor which was co developed by Finalmouse and PixArt and powered by Nordic's new nRF54LM20 microcontroller. Full hardware details have not been fully disclosed, however Finalmouse states the total system latency is as low as 223 microseconds with PerfectPolling data transmission.

Initial release will come in the color Nightfall black, and preorders are opening soon on the Finalmouse store for $179. This places the device at the highest end of the gaming peripherals spectrum, aimed at players seeking only the most weight efficient and fastest responsive peripherals.
