HMD Set to Launch the Vibe 2 5G in India on May 21st as the Budget Friendly Successor With Large 6000 mAh Battery and Redesigned Camera Island
The Vibe 2 5G s official India launch date has been confirmed by HMD, which states the budget friendly device will be arriving on May 21st. The confirmation comes shortly after the release of several digital teasers, and after the device was formally listed by Indian retailer Flipkart. As you may know, the Vibe 2 5G is the successor to the original HMD Vibe which was originally released in September last year.
According to the hardware specification displayed on Flipkart s product page, several key upgrades from the previous generation are included in the Vibe 2 5G. This included a large 6000 mAh battery that promises increased uptime and supports 18W fast wired charging. Visually, the rear of the device sports a heavily redesigned aesthetic over its predecessor, with the Vibe 2 5G now boasting a rectangular camera island that has been filled with 2 lenses and an LED flash. Interestingly, it has been widely commented on by many analysts that the arrangement is remarkably similar in aesthetics to the rear design of the latest iPhone 17 series.
With the main rear camera sensor set at 50 MP, details regarding the secondary lens and the selfie camera remain unavailable from HMD at this point. The phone is being offered in 3 color variants: cosmic lavender, Nordic blue, and peach pink. Battery size and primary camera are not the only unannounced specs however, with both the CPU and screen resolution yet to be disclosed.
HMD is planning on selling the Vibe 2 5G in India via Flipkart as well as through select offline retail partners nationwide. The official price is not expected to be revealed until the launch event has taken place.
