Intel Appoints Alex Katouzian to Lead Client Computing and Physical AI While Pushkar Ranade Becomes Chief Technology Officer to Drive Future Technology Strategy
The executive team at Intel Corporation has made a major executive change through the appointment of Alex Katouzian to his new role as executive vice president and general manager of the Client Computing and Physical AI division. According to Intel Corporation's press release from Santa Clara California Katouzian will oversee the alignment of traditional client computing with the expanding sector of physical AI systems. The project will develop both robotic machines and autonomous equipment together with traditional computing systems.
Katouzian comes to Intel from Qualcomm Technologies where he held the position of executive vice president in the company's mobile and compute and extended reality business units. His main goal is to guide the first significant project that will turn the client business into an AI powered operation. According to Intel CEO Lip Bu Tan Katouzian possesses essential technical and operational skills which he developed throughout his 10s of years of work experience. Katouzian will take his new role in May and will report to Lip Bu Tan as his supervisor.
Intel selected Pushkar Ranade to become chief technology officer after he previously worked as the temporary chief technology officer. Ranade previously served in this capacity on an interim basis. He will create the technology strategy for 2026 while managing the company's research activities on specialized fields. His responsibilities cover everything from managing quantum computing projects to neuromorphic computing and developing photonics and new materials.
Ranade will hold on to his job as chief of staff to the CEO. The technical roadmap of the company will align with its primary business priorities through this dual role. Like Katouzian Ranade reports directly to Lip Bu Tan. The organization made these two appointments to support its strategy of developing its main product line while driving forward technological advancements in new hardware categories.
