Irtysh S632 Silicon Demonstrates Gaming Capability at ExpoElectronica 2026 Featuring The Witcher 3 Performance and Linux Compatibility with AMD Radeon Hardware

A significant milestone for domestic semiconductor development occurred at the ExpoElectronica 2026 exhibition in Moscow where engineers showcased the gaming performance of the new Irtysh processor. The demonstration featured the Irtysh S632 model, a 32 core computational unit designed for heavy workloads. To illustrate the versatility of the chip, the engineering team assembled a desktop system utilizing the processor alongside a premium AMD Radeon RX 9060XT graphics card. The machine operated on a Linux environment using the Proton compatibility layer to run titles originally designed for other ecosystems.

The primary focus of the live demonstration was the demanding title The Witcher 3 from CD Projekt RED. Under high graphical settings the hardware configuration maintained a performance range between 22 and 32 frames per second. When the settings were adjusted to a low profile the output improved slightly, reaching values between 25 and 38 frames per second. These results were supplemented by testing with Civilization VI where the Irtysh hardware managed a more stable range of 30 to 40 frames per second. The engineering team at Tramplin Electronics noted that these figures are representative of the early stages of optimization for gaming scenarios.

Currently Irtysh is not tailored for such tasks.

The Irtysh S632 architecture finds its foundation in the Chinese LoongArch platform, which provided the initial design framework. However, the domestic firm Tramplin Electronics holds a specific license that permits the extensive modification of the processing cores. This allows for the integration of custom hardware blocks designed in Russia to enhance specific computational tasks. While the current focus remains on professional and industrial applications, the ability of the S632 to navigate complex gaming engines marks a notable step forward for the platform. For now the development team continues to refine the hardware and software layers to improve compatibility across diverse software environments.
