Mouse P.I. Sales Surpass 730000 Units as PlaySide Reports Full Financial Profitability

Mouse P.I. Hits Financial Profitability with Over 730,000 Copies Sold Across Multiple Platforms and Gains Positive Reception for Unique Visuals

Not every successful video game launch needs to have the same sky high sales numbers as the biggest blockbuster titles out there. In fact, the latest financial data for the noir action game Mouse P.I. Reveals that the game has officially reached a state of profitability just one month after its release. As per a newly published financial report from publisher PlaySide, the title has fully recoup its production and marketing costs.

The PlaySide data suggests that since its release, over 730,000 units of Mouse P.I. Have been sold, with console sales making up half of that total (50%). Total revenue came in at around $21.4 million and with certain deductions for platform fees and distribution, the publisher is currently reporting a net profit of $13 million, officially putting the game into the black.

Mouse P.I. Was released on April 16th for the PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch 2 and follows an aesthetic inspired by classic film noir within a world overrun by hostile mice. Though reviewers and critics alike generally describe the gameplay as competent, if unspectacular, the stylistic visuals and nods to genre themes clearly resonated with the player base, and generated this impressive financial success.

The reception has been generally positive with developers being praised for the art style, though many have agreed that the core gameplay mechanics are rather uninventive. Mouse P.I. Is a clear example of a mid budget stylistic title that can achieve success even without widespread critical acclaim, especially since the developers can now consider any future support or development of the series going forward.
