One UI 9 Beta Based on Android 17 Launches for Galaxy S26 Series Featuring Deeper Customization Better Mobile Security and Broad Creative Tools
One UI 9 beta launched based on Android 17, first available for Galaxy S26 series and now Samsung continues after the announcement of One UI 8.5, introducing a deeper level of customization and better mobile security features along with broader creative tools.
Better Productivity: New pen line styles and decorative tapes make documents more organized in the Notes app. While using the Contacts app directly accesses Creative Studio to create custom profile cards, users no longer need to leave the app. Quick Panel has been revamped offering independent controls over Brightness, Media and Sound controls that are resizable depending on what the user needs.
Better Interaction: Users can now customize cursor speed with the improved mouse key speed for accessibility features. The update consolidates Talkback features from both Google and Samsung to deliver a uniform experience. Text Spotlight a new floating window that increases text size will help read text without changing screen scale size; this all works flawlessly for the entire Galaxy S26 range.
Proactive Threat Detection: Software security gets boosted with the identification of high risk apps and a more pro active response to potentially malicious software, giving warnings and allowing the blockage of dangerous applications. Following updated security policies, the software now recommends deleting risky apps as soon as possible as it directly compromises your data.
Rollout specifics: Users of the Galaxy S26 range in 6 markets Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, UK, and USA are eligible to enroll in the One UI 9 beta through the Samsung Members app. For the future, this latest version is tipped to be released out of the box on the company's next foldable devices, possibly the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8, likely to hit markets later this year.
