Realme Watch S5 Officially Confirmed Featuring Circular AMOLED Display With 1500 Nits Peak Brightness Superior 20 Day Battery Life And GPS Tracking
The company Realme officially confirmed that the Watch S5 wearable is upcoming using the official announcement channels. It is interesting to see that this new piece of hardware does not sport the rectangular footprint of the prior generation Watch 5 but features a completely circular layout instead. With clear prioritization on outdoor screen legibility and superior battery endurance, the manufacturer prepared this device for mid tier consumer market.
The physical casing design comes with 3 raised hardware buttons on its side profile and a flat profile. There are 12 printed minute/hour markers on the outer bezel that give the gadget the look of a traditional timepiece. A 1.43 inch, 60Hz refresh rate, AMOLED panel on the front offers a visual interface that can be boosted to a peak brightness of 1500 nits which should prove beneficial for sunny outdoor sessions. The software enables a constantly lit display but doing so would eat into the promised 20 day battery life.
The hardware is rated for 5 ATM water resistance which means it can tolerate being worn underwater during swimming and also daily activities without problems. There is also a dedicated GPS receiver module to measure traveling distance even when the user's smartphone is out of range. The software has support for 110 different sports modes to categorize all forms of physical activity. Biometric sensors keep track of heart rate, blood oxygen level on a continuous basis, sleep stages, stress levels, as well as menstrual cycles. An integrated microphone and speaker allows a user to have a conversation with voice assistants, or talk to someone on a phone call, if a mobile phone is connected. The official retail price is currently unannounced.
