Samsung Issues Security Patch for 47 Vulnerabilities Across Galaxy Smartphone and Tablet Lineup Including Flagship Foldable and Budget Devices

Samsung announced the distribution of an important security patch which applies to all its mobile devices. The patch addresses 47 distinct security weaknesses which were discovered in the Android system and Samsung's proprietary software elements. The security update provides protection for all equipment types from flagship smartphones to foldable devices and tablets and industrial grade ruggedized systems.

The official Samsung security bulletin states that the 47 fixes are divided between various departments. 33 of these address vulnerabilities found in the core Android operating system while 10 focus specifically on Samsung Mobile components. The remaining 4 patches solve issues within the Samsung Semiconductor division. Security optimizations were created through system service enhancements which targeted DeX and Device Care to reduce access points and bolster platform protection.

Premium S Series Devices: The flagship hardware receiving the update includes the entire Galaxy S26 range consisting of the standard S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. All customers who own Samsung devices from the S25 series which includes Edge and FE models and from the S24 and S23 series can obtain the update. This includes the S24 Ultra and the S23 FE variants.

Foldable Z Series Devices: In the foldable category Samsung is deploying the patch to the Galaxy Z TriFold, the Z Fold 7, the Z Flip 7, and the Z Flip 7 FE. The security cycle now includes older foldable devices which range from Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 to Fold 5 and Fold 4. The Z Fold Special Edition is also cited as a recipient of the 47 fixes.

Galaxy A and M Series: The mid range Galaxy A series sees widespread support for this update. The code update is being delivered to all models which include the A57, A56, A55 and the basic A07 and A07 4G models. The A37, A36, A35 and A34 models together with the A26, A25, A16 and A15 models also support the system. The security update process for the Galaxy M series will affect its M54 and M16 models.

For industrial and outdoor users the rugged Galaxy XCover 7, XCover 7 Pro, and XCover 6 Pro models are being prioritized in this rollout. The devices need regular security patches to keep their enterprise certification status.

Galaxy Tab Series: All large screen devices receive the security update. The Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra along with the more affordable Galaxy Tab A11+ are designated as recipients for these 47 security fixes. Users should execute the update process through their device settings right away to defend their devices against potential attacks which target both device integrity and personal data protection.
