SanDisk 1 TB External SSD Launches With USB 3.2 Gen 2 Support Lightweight Design And Durable Chassis For Portable Storage Users
SanDisk has introduced its first 1 TB external SSD product which features a strong protective casing and supports the USB 3.2 interface. The new SanDisk external drive brings portable storage to users who need a small solid state drive with USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C which achieves a maximum theoretical speed of 10 Gbps. The SanDisk product specifications state that the drive works with Android Windows and macOS operating systems. The device is currently available in the Chinese market with a retail price of 128 dollars.
The SanDisk ELE achieves its performance through its ability to perform sequential reads at speeds that reach 600 MB per second. The manufacturer did not disclose the precise write speed but they confirmed that it falls short of the read speed. The performance capabilities of this system operate within a chassis that measures 75 by 45 by 10 millimeters which matches the dimensions of a regular matchbox. The device weighs 31.7 grams which makes it one of the lightest storage devices available in the market today.
The pocket sized storage device focuses on creating a durable design that meets all users needs. The exterior housing protects against physical damage by sustaining impacts from drops that occur between 2 meters. The device functions between temperatures that range from 0 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius. The design targets users who require reliable external storage for mobile devices and laptops without the bulk of traditional external drives. The Type C port enables the device to work with various modern electronic devices which include tablets and smartphones.
