Vivo S60 and S60e Launch with 7200 mAh Batteries and Ultra Thin Designs

Vivo S60 and S60e Launch in China with Slim Chassis Design Massive 7200 mAh Battery and High Quality 144 Hz AMOLED Displays

Vivo officially launched the S60 and S60e devices in a presentation in China. The manufacturer reported a design breakthrough of having a chassis thickness of less than 8mm for the devices while still containing a high capacity battery. The trend of consumers preferring slim light hardware with extended battery life appears to have made the manufacturer take serious steps toward these features.

The two devices have the same quality display with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels and a refresh rate up to 144 Hz and HDR10+ supported. A large 6.59 inch AMOLED flat screen comes with the display with up to 5000 nits peak brightness, and a 4320Hz PWM Dimming feature that reduces eye strain during prolonged usage. An ultrasonic fingerprint reader is integrated into the display itself in the lower part. The devices have similar overall appearance.

Internals differ with each device, although it should be mentioned that the same type of LPDDR5X memory and up to 512GB storage is supported. The device that comes with the highest tier internals the S60 will include the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 as the chipset, while the cheaper S60e comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7500. Both phones will house a 7200 mAh battery supported by 90 watt fast charging.

The front facing camera of both devices are the same 50MP shooter with autofocus. They have identical back camera modules excluding the third telephoto lens found on the S60. Both have the 50MP Sony IMX 882 sensor which has OIS, and an 8MP ultrawide with 110 degree FOV. The higher tier device has a third 50MP telephoto camera also based on the Sony IMX 882 sensor with a 3x optical zoom.

The S60 and S60e share a 3.5 mm audio jack, dual stereo speakers, infrared blaster, NFC, and an X axis linear motor. They both are dust and water proof with an IP68 and IP69 rating. The starting price for the S60e in China is 2899 yuan (roughly $428) and will come with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The S60 will be released starting at 3599 yuan (roughly $530) with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
