Xbox Game Pass May Expansion Delivers Forza Horizon 6 and DOOM The Dark Ages Plus Diverse New Titles and Important Service Library Updates
The Xbox Game Pass May expansion introduces two major titles which are Forza Horizon 6 and Doom The Dark Ages. The Xbox Game Pass library received new content through Microsoft which added multiple important games that will be released throughout May. The announcement revealed the system update which delivers multiple day 1 game releases and brings back major gaming franchises for players on console and cloud and PC systems. Final Fantasy V is available starting May 5 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
Forza Horizon 6 serves as the primary addition for the month launching on May 19 as a day 1 title. The racing series now brings its gameplay experience to players through a vast open world environment in Japan. The game features more than 550 real world vehicles and introduces the largest driving map in the history of the franchise. Users who own the Premium Upgrade package will gain access to the game on May 15.
On May 14 the service adds DOOM The Dark Ages and Subnautica 2. The modern series of DOOM The Dark Ages begins with a prequel that explores the medieval origins of the Slayer. Subnautica 2 enters the library as a Game Preview title on the same day. The sequel supports four players to investigate an entirely new alien planet. Players must explore deep underwater regions while constructing their own bases and creating tools for survival.
The 1st week of May includes several diverse titles starting with Ben 10 Power Trip and Descenders Next on May 6. Descenders Next focuses on extreme sports and mountainboarding with linked career modes. The cosmic biking adventure Wheel World and the Wuchang Fallen Feathers game both make their way into the world on May 6. Wuchang is an action RPG set during the final years of the Ming Dynasty where players use brutal combat to survive a chaotic world.
The narrative adventure Mixtape joins the service on May 7. Beethoven and Dinosaur developed this title which presents a coming of age story that uses a nostalgic soundtrack. Outbound follows on May 11 allowing up to 4 players to build and customize mobile homes in an open world. The card game Black Jacket comes to the service on May 12 which lets players wager in a completely dark purgatory. Call of the Elder Gods and the galactic sandbox Elite Dangerous also arrive on May 12.
The library received major updates throughout this month which improved all existing titles. Dead by Daylight introduced the Bloodbound update featuring Attack On Titan themed content and rewards. Sea of Thieves launched Season 19 which includes the Last Ship Standing event for Sloop crews. World of Warships Legends now provides naval combat enthusiasts with access to over 600 vessels that accurately represent historical naval ships.
Microsoft announced that five titles will be removed from the library on May 15 as new games enter the service. The games leaving include:
- Galacticare Go Mecha Ball
- Planet of Lana
- Kulebra and the Souls of Limbo
- Paw Patrol Rescue Wheels
Subscribers can purchase these games at a 20% discount to keep them permanently in their collections after they leave the service.
