Xiaomi 17 Max High End Smartphone Launches Featuring Massive 8000mAh Battery and 200MP Camera With Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Hardware
Xiaomi has launched another phone that targets a high end mobile experience with the introduction of the Xiaomi 17 Max. The device is intended to serve as an alternative high end phone with large screen where long battery life and media consummation take precedence over a multitude of secondary sensors. According to its specs page released on Xiaomi's official store site, the device, lacking the secondary screen found on the Pro Max, is equipped with a massive 8,000mAh silicon carbon battery and a main camera upgrade of 200 megapixels.
Xiaomi 17 Max utilizes a 6.9 inch AMOLED display which provides a screen resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels. This is further enhanced with a 120Hz refresh rate as well as an Outdoor peak brightness of 3500nits, both meant to provide legibility even on a bright sunny day. To provide convenient security biometric scanning, the device incorporates an under display ultrasonic fingerprint reader, whereas its 32MP front camera is housed in a diminutive punch hole at the top middle portion of the display.
The smartphone runs on the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Memory options include up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. The software side includes the proprietary HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. The body is IP68/IP69 water and dust resistant and is available in Pixel Black, Sky Blue, and White colors.
The primary camera system of the Xiaomi 17 Max is composed of 3 independent lenses with a primary 200 megapixel main lens being at the top, which uses a Samsung HP9 sensor. It has an f 1.65 aperture, OIS and a maximum dynamic range of 13.5 EV. Below that, there is a 50 megapixel telephoto lens offering a 3x optical zoom with macro capabilities. The last camera of the main set is the 50 megapixel ultra wide camera with an equivalent focal length of 17mm.
The enormous 8,000 mAh silicon carbon battery guarantees a total of 2 days worth of typical user operation on one charge. The cell itself is rated at 80% of capacity after 1600 charging cycles, which translates to approximately over 4 years of everyday usage. Fast wired charging stands at 100W while wireless charging is capable of 50W, and the phone supports 22.5W reverse wired charging.
For the Chinese market, the base configuration starting from 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs CNY 4,799 (roughly $660). Other variants in the same market include the one with 16GB RAM, 256GB storage, priced at CNY 5,099 ($749.49), as well as the one with 12 GB RAM, 512 GB storage costing CNY 5,399 ($793.59).
