Acer Announces Iconia Duo Tablets and AR Vision Smart Glasses

Acer Broadens Mobile Hardware Lineup with Iconia Duo OLED Tablets Featuring Three Two Aspect Ratios and AR Vision Smart Glasses for Augmented Reality and AI Assistant Tasks

Acer has also announced a significant broadening of its mobile hardware lineup with the introduction of 3 new tablets and 2 separate form factors for smart glasses. As detailed in the official Acer launch release the new Iconia Duo tablet range features a 3 2 screen aspect ratio which is aimed at integrating media viewing and document work with a silicon refresh. In doing so Arius is also launching in the domain of augmented reality and artificial intelligence glasses to go beyond the limits of traditional physical displays.

The most expensive addition to the new line up is the Acer Iconia Duo S14 targeted at serious content creators and mobile engineers. The tablet lends a 14.2 inch 2.8 K OLED output with a resolution of 2880 x 1840 pixels. The big screen can display a refresh rate of 120 Hz 100 percent DCI P3 color coverage with a screen to body ratio of 91 percent. The tablet works on Android 16 and is driven by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 system on a chip which is designed to take three layers of a truly hybrid workload premultiflatform multitasking.

Connectivity is provided through DisplayPort input and output ports and 2 USB Type C ports which enable the Iconia Duo S14 to be used as an additional portable monitor. The photographic hardware comprises the main 13 MP focused sensor with a 5 MP macro lens and a dual microphone system to ensure video conferencing clarity. Other hardware options are quad stereo speakers Wi Fi 6E support and fingerprint scanner slot built into the physical power button.

The Compact S12 and Accessible D12 Models

The Acer Iconia Duo S12 is a more portable, aluminum alloy chassis. The 12.2 inch 2.8 K OLED display is a bright 600 nits and uses nano texture glass to enable less reflection and fingerprint smudges. Android 16 is employed by this iteration, which houses a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 8.8 Octa Core GPU respectively. The S14 and S12 models light up armed with a fully active stylus, a magnetic kickstand and an optional attachable keyboard. The tablets become a complete machine with a full circle 10 hours of operational battery and 1 TB of expansion through a micro SD slot.

A more affordable option is the Acer Iconia Duo D12 which retains the 3 2 aspect ratio but on a 12.2 inch display with a resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels. The multi touch screen has a 90 Hz refresh rate. Inside is a MediaTek Helio G99, 8 GB of RAM and USB C connection and a microSD for expandable storage.

The Acer AR Vision GR0 is a set of 69g glasses that provide portable AR experiences by leveraging the processing capabilities of an accessory laptop or phone. It has dual micro OLED FHD displays that can project a 172 image at a distance of 6 meters. The glasses allow 2D and 3D channels on the same display, connect through a physical cable to Android iOS or Windows host, with speakers near the ears providing stereo audio.

The wireless (Bluetooth and Wi Fi) wearable Acer GI0 AI glasses are a mobile hands free assistant built on the Google Gemini platform. The glasses pair with mobile devices and perform tasks accessible by voice commands including assistant related activities real time language translation and image recognition from the built in camera. The AI also contains a dedicated camera for recording video or capturing images and has an integrated voice recorder.
